Our Story

John and Jennifer met by happenstance (or fate) in March of 2013, while rehearsing a children's theatre production of Pippi Longstocking. Jennifer, still living in NYC at the time, was commuting up to Albany for rehearsals. She had recently left a National Children's theatre tour early. John, on the other hand, had graciously stepped into a role that another actor could no longer perform.

Jen fondly remembers him flopping all over the stage, making her laugh out loud. Their chemistry was palpable from the start, and they became fast friends, sharing laughs, similar interests, and a yearning to learn more about each other.

They shared their first kiss on the rooftop of Jen's apartment in East Harlem in May of 2013. Soon after, Jen moved back upstate to Albany. As their friendship grew, so did their feelings for each other, and they officially started dating on February 12th, 2014, after a dance to Fly Me to the Moon at the 518 Speakeasy.

About a year later, in March of 2015, John & Jen moved into their first apartment together. Good ol' Parkwood Street! They lived there for six years, creating countless memories with friends & family, experiencing so much growth together, surviving a pandemic, and adopting their first (of three) rescue cats, Sora.

In 2021, John & Jen made the leap together and purchased their first home! Now, they live there happily with their fur-babies: Sora, Riku, and Kairi (if you know, you know).

John & Jen took their first real vacation together in May of this year, traveling to London for the first time! They had an absolutely amazing adventure, and it ended with the cherry on top: John proposed to Jennifer on May 12th, 2023 on the top of St. Paul's Cathedral.

They can't wait to celebrate their love with all of their friends and family! They know how lucky they are to be surrounded by so many people who love them.
